Where do we place our trust?

The Psalmist wrote:

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. (Psalm 20:7)

We naturally default to placing trust in ‘our own’ strength and power. We look for security in our homes, our friends, our neighbors, our jobs, and our nation.

The Psalmist speaks to that when he states: “some trust in chariots and some in horses.” The chariots and horses were symbols of strength, power and security. However, the recent events including fire, floods, economic uncertainties, along with our own personal struggles, help us understand that life as we know it is very fragile… a few tragic moments can humble a nation.

The good news is that we can choose to place our trust in something more secure. Like the Psalmist, we can ‘trust in the name of the Lord our God.’ This trust provides the security, hope, love and peace that we all seek. Join us on Sunday at 11:00 am as we worship the one who is worthy of our trust.
